Our Beliefs
The Christian Leadership Academy Yaoundé (CLAY) is a Christ-centered institution that expects all board members, faculty, and students to embrace its core beliefs. Our Board of Directors and administrative staff are committed to a realistic interpretation and application of the Christian faith, fully preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom of God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
CLAY is non-denominational, comprising Christian leaders and ministries dedicated to fostering relationships that transcend denominational boundaries, uniting in biblical harmony.
The following are our articles of faith:
-
We believe in one God: Creator of all, holy, infinitely perfect, and existing in a loving unity of three divine Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. God has graciously purposed from eternity to redeem a people for Himself and renew all things for His glory.
-
We believe in the Scriptures: The Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God, revealing His will for salvation and serving as the ultimate authority for all knowledge and endeavors. We are to believe, obey, and trust in the Bible's teachings.
-
We believe in the nature of humanity: Adam and Eve were created in God's image but sinned through temptation, resulting in all humanity being alienated from God. Only through Jesus Christ can we be rescued and reconciled.
-
We believe in Jesus Christ: Fully God and fully man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, was crucified, rose from the dead, ascended to heaven, and serves as our High Priest and Advocate.
-
We believe in Christ's atoning sacrifice: Jesus shed His blood as the perfect sacrifice for our sins. His death and resurrection are the sole basis for personal salvation.
-
We believe in the Holy Spirit: He glorifies Jesus, convicts the world of sin, regenerates believers, and empowers them for Christ-like living and service.
-
We believe in the true church: Comprising all justified by God’s grace through faith in Christ, united by the Holy Spirit. The true church manifests in local assemblies of believers, observing the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper as expressions of the gospel.
-
We believe in God’s grace and purpose: Justifying grace is linked to sanctifying power. We are called to love God supremely, care for one another, and serve the poor and oppressed. We combat spiritual evil through prayer and discipleship, sharing the gospel in words and actions.
-
We believe in Christ's return: His personal return, known only to God, inspires expectancy and motivates believers toward godly living and mission. We believe everyone is called to repentance and faith in Jesus as Savior, and that God will raise the dead, judging the world—assigning the unbeliever to condemnation and the believer to eternal joy with Him in the new heaven and new earth.
Our Mission
